Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino says their excellent season can only be good for Ricki Lambert's World Cup chances.
Despite scoring two goals in his first two internationals, Lambert is seen as being well behind Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck and Andy Carroll - if fit - in the England striker stakes ahead of next summer's World Cup.
Pochettino said: "It is very important for him to be in a club that is high up the table for his chances of going to Brazil. He is more visible and more publicly known when a player is playing for a top club that is playing well for his future in the England side. It is very important."
