Southampton striker Ricki Lambert enjoyed his first day with the England squad yesterday.
The 31-year-old Saints striker was handed a first England call-up last week, and enjoyed his first training session with Roy Hodgson's squad yesterday morning ahead of the game against Scotland at Wembley on Wednesday night.
He said: "I'm enjoying it and trying to take everything in. I'm trying to get here again and trying to do well and impress, and hopefully get another chance.
"I'm always confident I can score goals, I've always said that. Whoever I'm playing, whatever game it is, if I get a chance I'm confident I can take it.
"My main focus is trying to play well. And if I can score a goal that's brilliant."
He added: "I hope it sends a message. I never gave up hope that he would call me up.
"Hopefully that sends a message out that if you are performing, and you do believe in chances, you will get the chance."
