Southampton striker Ricki Lambert has set his sights on a first England call this season.
There was a push for Lambert to be named as Andy Carroll's replacement after he suffered a hamstring injury on debut for West Ham United.
"Maybe not right now but hopefully in the future," said Lambert. "That's my dream. That's everyone's dream. It's a serious ambition. I just want to improve every single day at this club.
"At Southampton we've got something good. What we have achieved in the last two years has been magnificent. I think we've got more to come as well.
"We just need to start picking up points and I believe we will."
