Southampton striker Austin extremely 'frustrated' by Arsenal draw

Southampton striker Charlie Austin is happy to be back in goal scoring form.

However, he is also disappointed his side could not manage to get a win against Arsenal at St. Mary's on Saturday.

Southampton led for a significant portion of the game, but were pegged back by a late Olivier Giroud goal.

"It's a massive sense of frustration," Austin said

"We started off like a house on fire, with four chances in the first seven minutes, but we needed to get the second goal."

"I feel like I'm going to get chance after chance, so I'm putting myself in the right positions and luckily I've put the ball in the net," he continued.

"I should've scored the one when I went across Cech. As a kid growing up I was always told to go across goal, but he's made a good save."

"I was delighted with the goal, but it was just instinct really. It got us a great start, but it's one of them where we should've got the three points," he finished.

It is no surprise to some that Charlie Austin is lighting up the Premier League again. He had a good time in the league with QPR a few years ago, and now he is hoping that he can earn his way to a permanent starting position in the Southampton team.

Austin already has five goals to his name, despite only starting three Premier League games this season. The majority of his appearances have come off the bench.

Southampton are comfortably mid table this season, and they will be hoping for a good Christmas period to try and cement a position in the top half.
