Southampton starlet Hesketh continues battle back from injuries

Jack Hesketh is a name that Southampton fans know too well. The youngster has been touted as a top prospect for many years.

Now at 21, the young attacker is making waves with the Southampton under-23 side. And he is hoping that his form will earn him a chance with the first team.

Hesketh had to go through a full ten months on the sidelines, after suffering two different long-term injuries that kept him out of action.

He broke into Southampton's first team once before, starting a Premier League game against Manchester United at just 18-years-old.

"It's a long time to be out and it's very frustrating sitting and watching everyone train and play, so to be back in and around it is really exciting," Hesketh said.

He has four goals in three games for the under-23s in November, but it is unclear whether a good run of form will result in a first team recall.

Southampton have a big squad, and competition for places is tight. Hesketh will have to remain patient for his first team chance.
