Victor Wanyama does not want to remember the most recent summer transfer window.

The Kenyan midfielder was desperate to land a move away from Southampton to Tottenham but the Saints did everything they could to keep hold of him.

In the end, however, it all worked out well with Wanyama playing some solid football for the in-form south coast club who defeated Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on the weekend.

Of the protracted transfer, Wanyama told the Southern Daily Echo: "I just don't want to remember that situation.

"Yes, sure, now I've forgotten what happened. I'm now progressing on my club and it's been good, so I'm looking forward to putting in good performances."
