Southampton are ready to test Celtic's resolve for striker Gary Hooper.

Sky Sports says Saints boss Nigel Adkins is a huge admirer of Hooper having worked with him during his time in charge of Scunthorpe and he is keen on being reunited as he plans for life in the Premier League next season.

Saints are set to offer £7 million for Hooper in the coming days.
