Southampton skipper Adam Lallana hopes to earn an England recall.
Lallana, 24, got his first England call-up in September and he hopes Roy Hodgson's interest in bringing youth into the national side means he and more of the younger players at Southampton get their chance in the future. Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne, 21, plays for England Under 21s and Luke Shaw is in the Under 17 side.
Lallana said: "I would love to get back in the England squad as any other young England player in the Premier League would. It is early stages for [Clyne and Shaw].
"Hodgson has shown he wants to bring youth in but I know they are not going to get too far ahead of themselves. If in time us improving gets some of the younger lads call-ups then that is brilliant. Clyne and Shaw have been excellent."
