Toby Alderweireld is backing former Ajax teammate Daley Blind for success with Manchester United.
Alderweireld, who signed for Southampton on deadline day, progressed through Ajax's famous academy with Blind and has backed him to be a success at United.
"I of course went to the Ajax academy with him, but also to normal school in Holland, so he was a good friend of mine and I'm very happy for him," he told Sky Sports News Radio.
"He sees football very well. He's very smart. Technically, his first touch is his best asset I think. He can play left-back and he's developed very well over the past few seasons.
"If he can play left-back or in midfielder then he'll be great, no question."
