Southampton are nearing a deal for Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye according to reports.

France Football suggests that the Saints are set to pay £7million for the 25-year old Senegal international who is see as an apt replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin.

With Saints ace Schneiderlin reportedly set for Arsenal, Ronald Koeman has moved quickly to ensure his club gets the right man to step into the central midfield role held so well by the Frenchman over the past few seasons.
