Southampton's Pochettino thrilled for Boruc after signing new deal

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino was thrilled to see Artur Boruc sign a new contract to remain at St Mary's until 2015.

The former Celtic and Fiorentina goalkeeper has penned a new two-year deal with the Saints and Pochettino was delighted to see him commit to the cause.

"I'm very happy and very satisfied. Artur deserves this contract because, in the three months that I've been here, he has been crucial for us," he told the club's official website.

"He has a very strong personality and character. He is very brave in the way that he plays and, with our brand of football, it's very important that we have a keeper like Boruc for the long term."
