Southampton boss Nigel Adkins feels Chelsea are good enough to bridge the gap on the leading two teams in the Premiership race.
League leaders Manchester United sit 14 points ahead of the Blues whilst reigning champions Manchester City are seven clear but Adkins is of the belief that the addition of striker Demba Ba and under the tutelage of Rafael Benitez, the European champions are capable of winning the league.
"I think with the addition of Demba Ba now and whoever else they might bring in they look a very well-equipped side to go for the title," he said ahead of his sides trip to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
"It will be an interesting one but obviously he (Benitez) has started well in respect that they have won games, he is a good manager and has won the European Cup and the team play good.
"They have got exceptionally good football players who play good football and if you give them half an opportunity they will capitalise on that."
