Southampton remain intent on signing Spartak Moscow winger Promes

Southampton are still intent on trying to complete the signing of Spartak Moscow winger Quincey Promes.

A deal was expected to be completed in the transfer window, but it does not look like there is enough time to get it done.

However, Southampton will give it everything to ensure the transfer is over the line, and Promes is keen on the move.

The stumbling block to any deal is the fee, with the Moscow club hoping they can recoup £30 million for the best player in their side. They know the player wants out, but they want compensation.

Southampton do have a lot of money following the sale of Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool for £75 million, and it is expected they will cough up enough to get the transfer completed.
