Southampton are eager to sign a pair of Spaniards this summer.

The Sun is reporting that Saints boss Claude Puel is determined to strengthen the squad he has inherited from Ronald Koeman and will make a serious play for Cristian Tello and Recio in order to do so.

It is understood that Barcelona are looking for £10million for 24-year-old winger Tello while Malaga midfielder Recio, 25, would cost the south coast club £5m.

Barca are willing to sell Tello after sending him on loan to Porto and Fiorentina over the past few seasons and it is believed that the player is seeking a permanent move to the Premier League.

Koeman remains keen on Recio, as he was at Southampton, but has bigger targets in his sights which could leave the Saints to land the former Granada loanee as a replacement for Victor Wanyama who recently left St Mary's for Tottenham.
