Southampton are moving for Internacional striker Leandro Damiao.

The London Evening Standard says Tottenham have ended their interest in Damiao and Southampton are stepping up their attempts to sign him instead.

Spurs have been chasing the Brazil international for the past two years, but have grown frustrated during negotiations with Internacional and are now looking elsewhere for a forward.

Internacional continue to demand £21m for Damiao and his agent Jorge Machado claims a Premier League club, which is believed to be Southampton, are in negotiations over a deal.
