Southampton are not looking to sign Charlie Austin this summer.

Reports emerged that the Saints were set to make a move for the QPR striker but Press Association Sport indicates that is not the case.

Austin, 25, is a target for a number of Premier League clubs – including Newcastle United, West Ham United, Crystal Palace and champions Chelsea – but the Saints are not one of those teams keen on his services after recently signing Spanish forward Juanmi from Malaga.

The former Burnley ace scored 18 goals in his debut campaign in England's top flight which ended in the R's suffering relegation to the Championship.
