Southampton and Newcastle United are chasing Guingamp midfielder Marcos Coco.
The Sun says Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez attempted to land the Guingamp youngster last summer and is preparing a £10million bid to make him the first Toon signing at end of the season.
Benitez is looking at adding quality to his squad with his team on course for a return to the top-flight.
Coco, 20, will add pace and can play at full-back or winger, with his club expecting him to leave for England at the end of the season.
Southampton have also shown interest in the France Under-21 international, with boss Claude Puel an admirer from his time coaching at Nice.
And Stoke have also been tracking Coco after his breakthrough into the first-team at Guingamp two years ago.
