Southampton are preparing a new contract offer for manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The Daily Mail says Tottenham sporting director Franco Baldini has identified Pochettino as a possible long-term replacement for Andre Villas-Boas, who was sacked on Monday.
Pochettino's current deal expires at the end of next season but the Saints are set to open talks with the former Espanyol boss early next year as they look to fend off interest from rival clubs.
