Oriol Romeu has likened Southampton boss Ronald Koeman to Johan Cruyff.

Romeu left Saints for Chelsea in August.

"Koeman is calm but also demanding," Romeu told the Daily Mail. "He gives freedom to the players on the field. The team needs to be compact, the aim is to win the ball back extremely quickly and get it forward with intensity. The style is similar to what I grew up with at Barcelona. The style of play and training sessions remind me a lot of La Masia. Our sessions are ball-focused, possession-based, small-sided games. It is the Dutch model as well, passed down by Cruyff.

"I am very happy here. I am renting in Winchester with my girlfriend. It's a beautiful town, we have already been seeing the sights. Our pet Beagle dog is still to arrive.
