Southampton manager Pellegrino grateful for 'home grown' starlet Sims

Mauricio Pellegrino is grateful for the return of Josh Sims to his Southampton squad.

The 20-year-old academy product made a pivotal impact after coming on against Burnley on Saturday, having helped set up Manolo Gabbiadini's last minute equaliser.

Sims has been forced to miss seven months through injury, but Pellegrino is happy with the way he is integrating with his teammates.

"The important thing is that we need players that has to be really well prepared in all aspects," said Pellegrino.

"Josh is a young player who is getting better, who is home grown.

"I think little by little the connection between him and his teammates is better and I think it is good news for us."
