Southampton have made an offer for Barcelona defender Marlon Santos.

Sky Sports says Southampton have made an initial £10m bid for Barcelona defender Marlon.

The fee could rise to £12m with additional payments for the 22-year-old Brazilian, who was recently recalled by the La Liga club from a two-year loan at Nice.

He made a couple of first team appearances under Luis Enrique but was mainly a B team player before joining Nice on loan last year.

It is also understood that Mark Hughes' Saints are interested in Atalanta striker Andrea Petagna.
