Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has questioned Mauricio Pochettino's decision to quit St Mary's for Tottenham.
Tomorrow the Saints, second in the table, travel to Tottenham, who have won just one of their last seven games in an indifferent start to Pochettino's Spurs career.
Le Tissier told the Daily Express: "If I had been him, I am not sure it is a job I would have looked at and thought, 'there's a bit of job security'! He has taken a huge gamble with his reputation.
"He may have thought that this opportunity might never come up again so I can understand him wanting to have a go at it. Spurs are obviously a team where he felt he had a better chance of playing Champions League football. You can understand it from that point of view.
"But sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side and the way the season has started, he might be looking up the table and thinking, 'Oh! What have I done?'
"He could dent his career a little bit and if things don't work out pretty quickly, he could find himself going the same way as a lot of other managers at Tottenham have done recently."
