Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier says they need a new striker signing to break the top ten next season.

He believes they have plenty to build on in 2013/14, but reckons a new forward should be manager Mauricio Pochettino's priority.

Le Tissier told the Daily Echo: "Anything above 18th place was going to be a success this season, coming up from the Championship is very tough, as Reading have found, and staying up is the first priority.

"We've done that and hopefully we can pick up some new signings in the summer and kick on and maybe have a top-ten finish next season.

"But I don't think it needs wholesale changes, maybe a bit of tinkering here and there maybe with three or four players to bolster the squad.

"I think we need another centre-forward to complement Rickie.

"If you can get a couple of goalscorers who can get in double figures that gives you a real good chance."
