Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier says Ricki Lambert deserves an England call.

Lambert missed out on Roy Hodgson's squad this week.

But Le Tizz told talkSPORT: "He couldn't make our starting line-up for the first game of the season [against Manchester City], which was a bit of a strange one, but he came on, made a good impact, and did well again on Sunday [against Manchester United].

"He has been awesome. He has got a fantastic goalscoring record. With the lack of English forwards about at the moment, I see no reason why not."
