Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has praised Andre Villas-Boas' management of Tottenham star Gareth Bale.

Le Tissier wrote in the Daily Mail: "It's good management to spot a player who's got that much potential and be brave enough to say, 'I'm going to change my team to suit him.' Harry let him roam a bit but it seems to have gone to another level since AVB took over. The celebration was an interesting touch, to show there's trust between them.

"You come in for a bit of special attention when you're such a dominant figure in the opposition team. They are going to get you, by fair means or foul.

"But it seems to me he's thriving on it. It does look like he relishes the pressure of being the one that people expect to make things happen. The more people make a point of it, the more he steps up to the plate. He's getting better as the season goes on."
