Southampton interested in Scotland target Strachan

Recent reports suggest that Southampton are believed to be interested in acquiring the services of Gordon Strachan.

As the Saints continue to struggle in their Premier League return under Nigel Adkins, there are murmurings that a new manager could be brought in soon if results do not improve.

SunSport suggests that former Celtic and Middlesbrough boss Strachan is being targeted for a St Mary's return after his stint there which ended in 2004.

Strachan has also been included in a group of men believed to be in the running to take over the Scotland national team following Craig Levein's sacking on Monday. Also among that list is Walter Smith, Alex McLeish and Joe Jordan.
