Southampton have approached FC Porto regarding out-of-favour attacking midfielder Sergio Oliveira.

The Sun reports that Saints boss Claude Puel is keen on the 24-year-old, who is up for sale.

Oliveira fell out with Dragões boss Nuno Espirito Santo last year and it is understood that Porto are keen to offload the player this month.

The Portuguese giants are willing to sell the former Portugal U23 international for around £4million and Puel is now ready to bring in the versatile former Paços Ferreira loanee who can operate on the right side of midfield, through the middle or even on the left.
