The 29-year-old has been in sensational form for Alan Pardew's side this season, bagging 23 goals so far.
He told The News: "I've had a lot of fans come up and tell me how important this game is and what it means to them.
"I've had a few demands to score against Portsmouth and knock them out of the Cup. I know exactly how much expectation there is out of this game. I never realised how much the fans really do hate each other and how big the rivalry is.
"I'm from Liverpool and there are Everton and Liverpool fans in the same family – it's 50/50 – so it's a lot more friendly and promoted as that. There can be hatred on the pitch on derby days, but it won't be in the same kind of bracket as this.
"It would be amazing to get the winner tomorrow."
