Mark Dennis insists Kevin Keegan is not in the frame for the Southampton manager's job.

Keegan was photographed meeting with Saints legend Matthew Le Tissier, who is spearheading a potential takeover by the Pinnacle consortium.

But former Southampton defender Mark Dennis insists that Le Tissier was simply seeking advice from the two-time Newcastle manager.

"I'm a friend of Matt's and I spoke to him about it," revealed Dennis. "It's great news his group have applied to take over the club but dreadful that the hopes of Southampton fans have been built up about Kevin.

"Matt had a meeting with Kevin asking him for advice which you can't blame him for.

"Unfortunately, Matt's next door neighbours are having some work done on their house and a workman took some pictures of the pair.

"They have been circulated but people are putting two and two together and coming up with three."
