Southampton management is furious with Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny having his red card overturned.
Egypt international Elneny was sent off by referee Andre Marriner during the bad-tempered closing minutes of Arsenal's 3-2 win at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Sky Sports says the FA rescinded the three-match ban handed to Elneny on Tuesday despite Southampton believing him to be guilty of raising his arms in an added-time altercation with Cedric Soares.
Southampton's anger has been compounded by the knowledge that defender Jack Stephens - sent off a minute earlier - will have to serve a three-match ban for violent conduct.
The club also feel aggrieved about the lack of disciplinary action given to another Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
Southampton feel Wilshere was the root cause of the incident which saw Stephens dismissed for his reaction, but the England midfielder was only shown a yellow card by Marriner.
