Luke Shaw says succeeding at Southampton is down to his family.
Saints are preparing to offer the left-back a bumper new five-year contract that will keep him on the south coast long-term.
The starlet says he owes his rise from spotty-faced youngster to Saints' youngest ever Premier League player to his supportive family.
"It has made me really proud because I just wanted to do it for my family. I would not be here now if it was not for them," he said.
"I was based near London when I was younger so they had to get me down to training during the week. Sometimes, it was really hard and the family was struggling but they got me through it.
"When I think back to that, it makes me really proud of what I have done."
