Southampton fullback Nathaniel Clyne was thrilled to make a winning England debut yesterday.
Clyne started in victory over Euro2016 qualifying opponents Slovenia.
"It was probably one of the best days of my life," he told theFA.com. "It is what I've been dreaming about ever since I was a little boy, playing for England, and I got to do it today.
"It is a great feeling to come out here and play at Wembley for England. It is a proud moment for me, my family and my friends.
"It was a great experience lining up with the lads, singing the national anthem, getting prepared for the game. I enjoyed playing today and I'm looking forward to playing more.
"I was a little bit nervous. I'm not going to lie, but as I got myself out onto the pitch the nerves went and it turned out to be a normal game of football."
