Southampton youngster Matt Targett is reportedly set to move to Fulham on loan until the end of the season.
Despite Ryan Sessegnon being in excellent form, Cottagers manager Slavisa Jokanovic is looking for extra cover at the back.
Jokanovic is also hoping that the addition of Targett to his side's squad and boost their chances of reaching the promotion playoffs.
Targett's appearances have been very limited this season as he suffered an ankle injury earlier on during the season and only made his first appearances this term over Christmas.
The Saints will sanction a loan move for Targett as they do have Sam McQueen as cover for Ryan Bertrand.
Targett was named as Saints young player of the year during the 2014/15 season but has since been unable to live up to expectations as he has made just two appearances so far this season.
Meanwhile Saints manager Mauricio Pellegrino is likely to step up his efforts in order to bring Theo Walcott back to the club.
