Southampton are being linked with Werder Bremen defender Naldo.

The Daily Mail says known as The Ox, he is 6ft 6ins tall and 29 years old. He is good on both feet and has a good scoring record, notably grabbing a hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt five years ago and scoring against Shakhtar Donetsk in the 2009 UEFA Cup Final.

Southampton want a centre back and have been looking at Bolton's Zat Knight, Scott Dann of Blackburn and Stoke's Matthew Upson.
