Southampton boss Nigel Adkins was pleased with his teams 2-0 win over Charlton on Tuesday night which eased the Saints towards an automatic promotion place from League One. Adkins said: "I thought we started extremely well and passed the ball extremely well. We scored a couple of excellent goals and I was looking for us to go on and get a few more.
"The supporters really got behind the players. Sometimes we are going to have to be patient and break teams down, but we were excellent.
"The lads have worked extremely hard and given a good performance for the supporters without being troubled really."
