Premier League club Southampton have revealed that Cody Cropper's head injury is not as serious as initially feared.
The former USA U20 international goalkeeper sustained a fractured eye socket in a collision early in the Saints U21 side's 2-1 win over Fulham on the weekend.
It was believed Cropper had suffered a serious head problem but the south coast club have confirmed he will not be sidelined for too long.
"He has an eye injury and suffered a concussion, but he will be fine," a Southampton spokesperson told MLSsoccer.com on Monday.
"He has already been released to the club's care.
"It seems like it will be weeks and not months (that he is out for)."
