Maya Yoshida will be a Southampton player next season.

The Japanese defender has, according to the Southampton Daily Echo, waived off interest from Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal.

Yoshida is settled at the south coast club and wants to remain in England.

The 29-year-old is now preparing for next month's World Cup.

He joined Southampton in 2012 and has the most Premier League appearances of any player from his homeland.
