Southampton defender Jos Hooiveld is ready to come up against Liverpool striker Luis Suarez this weekend.

Hooiveld is a big fan of the Uruguayan.

"He is a great player," he said. "I know him because he started in Europe at Groningen, which is where I am from.

"You can just see that he has developed very well. He has pace, is very complete and it is always a nice challenge [to face players like him].

"It will be 90 minutes and a fair game as we both start on zero. I enjoy the competitiveness of playing against the likes of him."
