Southampton defender Jose Fonte says teammate Jay Rodriguez deserves another chance with England.
Rodriguez was outstanding in the 2-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates, his first game since his under-par England debut against Chile at Wembley recently.
Fonte told the Daily Echo: "You can't judge a player on one performance.
"J-Rod's been consistent for us and he deserves another chance at least for England.
"He's a great player and so young.
"With the pace, strength and ability he has I don't see many like him in this league and in the England squad so I hope Roy Hodgson gives him another chance."
