Southampton, Crystal Palace move for van Gaal could be ruined by Ajax vacancy

Ajax is determined to reunite with former boss Louis van Gaal after Peter Bosz left for Borussia Dortmund.

The former Netherlands coach spent six years at the club and won the European Cup in 1995.

And according to The Sun, Southampton and Crystal Palace have also had van Gaal down as a target for last few weeks.

The Eagles are still without a manager after Sam Allardyce walked out on the club last month, and Southampton is weighing up their options after a disappointing campaign under Claude Puel.

Both clubs have now been pushed to speed up the negotiations given van Gaal's affinity with the Amsterdam club, who he also spent time with as a player.

The 65-year old last managed Manchester United before being sacked in 2015 after criticisms over his style of play.
