Southampton are closing in on Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez.

The Mirror says Ramirez is ready to talk about a £12m switch from Italian side Bologna after realising that Saints meant business - and with his club discovering there are no bigger bidders.

Liverpool and Tottenham have been among the clubs linked with the skillful attacker, who can play several roles, but Southampton have been the most serious suitors.
