Southampton are persisting in talks with Monaco over striker Guido Carrillo.
The 26-year-old worked with Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino at Argentinian club Estudiantes.
Carrillo has made just two Ligue 1 appearances this season despite his impressive goal scoring record with the club. He has scored 20 goals in 50 appearances since joining in 2015.
With his side sitting just one point above the relegation zone, Pellegrino is desperate to add more firepower alongside Charlie Austin.
He wants a trusted player who understands the way he coaches, and according to Sky Sports, he can have his man for £15m.
