Southampton have clinched a deal for Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez.

After several weeks of bitter negotiations, Saints were convinced by Ramirez's agent, Pablo Betancourt, to pay 70 per cent of his €14 million up front to close the agreement.

Sky Italia says the deal is now settled and the Uruguayan will be in Rome today to finalise his visa and immigration papers ahead of flying to the south coast.
