Southampton will challenge Manchester United for Feyenoord defender Stefan de Vrij.
The Mirror says Ronald Koeman has added Dutch World Cup defender De Vrij to his shortlist to replace Dejan Lovren.
Southampton's Croatian ace Lovren, 25, is poised to complete a £20million move to Liverpool this week.
De Vrij is also wanted by new United manager Louis van Gaal.
The 22-year-old has a year left on his contract, as a result he is available for around £8million.
