Southampton boss warns Derby, Sunderland off Jones

Southampton boss George Burley has again warned Derby and Sunderland off striker Kenwyne Jones.

"Kenwyne has pace and strength and scores goals and he is going to get better. He has so much potential. If Kenwyne is fit we have got a great targetman, potentially as good as anyone in the country," Burley told a fans' forum.

"I want to keep Kenwyne but with all this speculation it has not been easy for him. Kenwyne is not the finished article but I want to keep him. You can never say never but I am determined to hang on to him.

"It will be totally my decision - we don't need to sell him. The club is in a good financial position. We were able to spend £1milion on Wayne Thomas because we brought in £1million for Pele - that's how we did it. I told Kenwyne I want him to stay and I am sure he will get his head round that."
