Southampton boss Claude Puel is eyeing Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The Croydon Advertiser says Southampton are ready to table an offer for Cabaye in the next six months.

The Frenchman played for Saints boss Puel at Lille more than ten years ago, and the manager remains a big fan of the 30-year-old.

Cabaye has had a stop-start season for Palace so far, having come back late into pre-season and was not 100 per cent fit by the start of the new campaign.

After recovering from an injury, he was in and out of the starting XI in October but has started the last three matches as he picks up his best form again.
