Southampton striker Charlie Austin has suffered another shoulder injury.
The 27-year-old landed awkwardly in the first half of Thursday night's 1-1 Europa League draw with Hapoel Be'er Sheva at St Mary's and had to be replaced by Shane Long.
Austin has had previous trouble with the right shoulder, which required surgery in 2014 when he was at QPR, so it is uncertain just how long he will be sidelined for.
Puel told Southamptonfc.com: "He has an injury with his shoulder, and I don't know how long he will stay out, but for the moment he is injured."
The injury to Austin compounded a miserable night for the Saints who were unable to get the required result to advance to the Round of 32 in Europe's second tier club competition.
