Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Saints as the best team to visit Old Trafford this season after their narrow defeat there at the end of last month.

And Pochettino may have a friend for life in the Scot after doing the Red Devils the biggest of favours.

The Argentine chief joked: "I hope he sends a bottle of wine. If one arrives - so much the better!"
