Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino says Ricki Lambert is fired up going into their clash with Liverpool.

Pochettino revealed his star front man was furious after drawing another blank in Sunday's 0-0 draw at home to West Ham United.

Pochettino said: "After the game he was very angry, as any striker would be, as he didn't score a goal and get the win for the team. The bread and butter of any striker is to score goals and that hasn't been happening and he is concerned.

"But he is happy that the team is creating chances and he is on the right path to scoring goals. I don't think he is distracted and he doesn't need rest. He is 100 per cent focused on scoring goals."
