Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino found positives in defeat to Manchester United.
Saints dominated the second-half, but couldn't cancel out Romelu Lukaku's early winner.
Despite the defeat, the boss was happy with how his side equipped themselves against high-flying opponents.
“Football is about efficiency and you have to score goals," Pellegrino said.
“We couldn't do that and it's something we have to improve.
“The good news is that we played really well against one of the biggest teams in the Premier League, and we can look to the future with optimistic feelings.
“Playing this way we will win more games than we lose.
“It was a good game to see where we are against this type of team."
